Artist Alert: OCD (Moosh and Twist)

As of late, it appears as though rap has began to take a slow spiral into a gimmicky, non lyrical abyss. Filled with simple promotion of the newest cars, the most attractive woman, and other material things that the everyday person simply cannot relate to. But, there is a ray of hope to these dark days in the hip-hop industry. Two rays to be exact. The tandem rap group "OCD" is consists of two Philadelphia native rappers looking to bring a fresh breathe of air to a seemingly dying industry. Moosh and Twist combine and old school flow with highly addicting beats, and mind blowing punchlines that will have you wondering why they are still unsigned. With the release of their third mixtape a few months ago called "The Welcome Mat" , OCD has established themselves a a serious competitor in the industry. "Dream On" is a song on the mixtape that will have you wanting to download the entire thing! But until the release of their forth mixtape "The Vestibule" you'll just have wait in anticipation to see what they have else to bring.

More Drake in 2012?! Today Drake announces that he will be touring with A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar during his 2012 "Club Paradise" Tour. Apparently it is set to began on the same day as Nicki Minaji's "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" Album release. If he is coming to your city you better get ready to order your tickets, because before you know it they'll be GONE!

Sadly since Drake's sophomore album entitled "Take Care" has been delayed from its October 24th release date to November 15th, the musical anticipation for this month is slowly diminishing. Although "Make Me Proud" by Drake ft. Nicki Minaj has been released, many fans including myself still crave an album. Hopefully my collaboration mixtape with my long time friend and group member T-Fly entitled "InConsiderate" (dropping October 31st) can bring some happiness to those out their who want to hear some good music. Is Succeding Really Possible? Yes and No.

Now, I'll proudly admit that at times I can be a VERY pessimistic person (to say the least), BUT on a day to day basis I'm usually optimistic. For example, I try to see the glass as half full instead of half empty and look for the bright said in the situation. But, there has always been one question that bothers me. "Is succeeding really possible?" Now I know your first reaction and instinct my be to say "Yes" , "Ofcourse" , or "That's a dumbass question!" but hear me out first. To me, to say you've succeeded, means that you've excelled above your peers, or competition. It means that you have met all your goals and were in fact successful. And here is where I start to feel succeeding, is nearly impossible now a days. First, unless talking about sports, I feel that there is a very slim chance that a person can honestly say that they are the BEST at what they do. For example, it may not be someone you know personally or have even ever seen before, but there is someone else in the world who might be better than you. On the other hand, hard work and  determination might in fact make you  the best at what you do. Whether this pertains to being an athlete, musician , or anything else a person does. Secondly, to say that you've succeeded means that you have met or have exceeded all your goals, expectations, and any other mile stones you might have thought of. This is an incredibly difficult thing to do because there is always something that could be improved upon or done better. But there is always a person who can say that they've accomplished all they've done in there profession or another aspect of their everyday life. This is why I feel that being "Successful" or "Succeeding" is a extremely difficult claim to make... But that does not mean that it is Impossible.
